One of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls is majestic to say the least. A major tourism draw card, Victoria Falls leaves tourists from around the world in awe of it's beauty.
ZAMBIA VS ZIMBABWE
It has always been heavily debated by tourists which side of the falls you should visit. Much like Niagara Falls in Canada/USA! Each country has it's advantages and disadvantages so your decision depends entirely on your personal preferences.
VIEW: 75% of Victoria Falls can be viewed from Zimbabwe while 25% can be viewed from Zambia.
ACTIVITIES: The devil's pool and micro flights can only be accessed from Zambia while all other activities can be done on either side of the falls. Bear in mind Zambia activities are slightly cheaper due to higher taxes in Zimbabwe.
WILDLIFE: Game viewing in Zimbabwe is superior to that in Zambia.
Solution? If you're like me and want to see all that Victoria Falls has to offer I would highly recommend purchasing a uni visa. For 50 USD you get unlimited access across both countries for 30 days.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
While Victoria Falls are incredible year round, depending on your reason for travel, it is advisable to take note of the seasons to ensure you are not disappointed!
VISTING FOR THE EXPERIENCE
To see Victoria Falls in their true glory I would recommend a trip here between February and May. Directly after the rain season in Zambia the falls are at full capacity. Can you believe 625 million litres of water flow over the edge per minute!
VISITING FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
Although Summer in Africa is extremely hot, humid and unpleasant, the best time to capture Victoria Falls is between October to November. The water is at it's lowest and you'll be guaranteed superb shots without mist and raindrops overpowering your photos.
